Film Night @ Mt Vic Flicks Saturday 10th December, 8 pm
"Summer Pasture" is a unique and beautiful documentary. Acclaimed with a host of International awards, this film and the evening's programme will be a meaningful way to participate in an important event on the world calendar, International Human Rights Day.
Beginning with an opening of Welcome to Country by a local Elder, the evening aims to express the inter-relationships between all human rights issues world-wide, and our solidarity with displaced indigenous people as an ongoing international injustice. The Tibetan nomad, living at high altitude in a Buddhist culture produces fine and robust individuals: deeply spiritual, yet playful and earthy with a unique and threatened way of life. Nomads in Tibet have moved along with the seasons for 4,000 years. Whether they'll last another 20 is the question in "Summer Pasture."

Along with our speaker for the evening, Sakya Trinley Ling Co-ordinator, Shamana Yeshe Khandro, we will be showing a brief clip of rare footage of a recent talk by the Prime Minister of Tibet, Dr Lobsang Sangay. We will also have our resident monk, Lama Tsekyab, along with Lama Phuntsok, with a Traditional Tibetan Buddhist prayer for all those currently suffering through Human rights abuses. There will also be our regular chai and cake stall, a raffle with prizes such as a house blessing and baby blessings by Lama Tsekyab, and a Dharma shop with unique and well - priced gifts for Christmas.

All profits raised from our activities go to Dharma.
