We are proud to host an afternoon on Sunday February 12th, with Tenzin Tsundue, for a public talk:

'What's really happening inside Tibet.”

As a key player on the international arena with activism for Tibet, this is an opportunity not to be missed.India-born Tibetan poet, writer and activist Tenzin Tsundue, is described in New York Times as ‘the new and the most popular face’ of the ‘restless children of the Dalai Lama.' Former political prisoner who survived torture and humiliation in Tibet under Chinese occupation and a leader in the Tibetan struggle, Tsundue publishes his books himself and makes a living by peddling poetry. His second book Kora is in its seventh edition selling more than 18,000 copies and his third book Semshook is in its third edition. He won the first “Outlook-Picador Non-fiction Contest 2001”. Tsundue is widely published in national and international media, and much anthologized.

During the talk, Tsundue will show a brief documantary, as well as have copies of his books available for signing.

Sakya Trinley Ling has a long-standing commitment to the preservation of Tibetan culture and human rights in Tibet. Sakya Trinley Ling has been active since 1997, hosting Tibetan Buddhist teachers, Tibetan cultural events, film-nights, fund-raising activities for Tibetans inside and outside Tibet, as well as offering retreat programmes and courses for professionals in Tibetan Buddhist Psychotherapy. As the situation in Tibet becomes increasingly critical, with now a total of 17 self-immolations inside Tibet in protest of the brutal Chinese crack-down on Tibetans and Tibetan culture, now is really the time to get behind these important activities.

As at all our events we will have our famous chai and cake stall.
Tickets are available online here or at Katoomba YHA, 207 Katoomba Street, or at the door,
at a cost of $20- or $15- concesssion.
