'Blindsight' Film Fundraiser at Mt Vic Flicks
Sakya Trinley Ling in conjunction with Mt Vic Flicks is
proud to present the multi award winning documentary
'Blindsight' on July 26th, 2008. Set against the
breathtaking backdrop of the Himalayas, Blindsight follows
the gripping adventure of six Tibetan Teenagers who set out
to climb the 23,000 foot Lhakpa Ri on the north side of
Mount Everest. A dangerous journey soon becomes a seemingly
impossible challenge made all the more remarkable by the
fact that the teenagers are blind. These students from the
first school for the blind in Lhasa invite the famous blind
mountain climber Weihenmayer to visit their school after
learning about his conquest of Everest. Erik inspires the
teenagers to let himlead them to the summit of Everest. The
resulting three week journey is beyond anything any of them
could have predicted.
During the evening Sakya Trinley Ling will also have their
famous Chai and cake stall, Dharma shop and raffle as well
as an Introductory Talk. Tickets will be $15- for adults
and $10- concession and available from the July 1st from
Megalong Books in Leura and The Lotus Temple in Blackheath.
