The “Six Step” Programme
Conducted by: Sakya Trinley Ling’s “Compassion In Action”
- A Tibetan Buddhist Psychotherapy Initiative
THE D & A “SIX STEP” PROGRAMME
We are looking for people who want their Recovery.
“Recovery” is the language usually used in D & A
treatment. Our programme focuses on a Rediscovery of one’s
own nature.
We are not looking for converts to Buddhism. Tibetan
Buddhism is more of a psychology and a philosophy than a
religion. The psychological principles outlined in Tibetan
Buddhism apply directly to one’s capacity to be in the
“give and take” of relationships, the truth of our
interdependence, and the wisdom needed for developing
skillful,
compassionate relationships, with oneself and/or those you
are in relationship with.
The essence of the Six Steps:
“Recovery Hinges On The Quality of Your Relationships”
Nine Week Group Programme :
Week 1-6: “The Six Steps” One Step Per Week
*Generosity
*Patience
*Moral Conduct
*Joyous Effort
*Wisdom
*Meditation
Week 7-9: The Making of a DVD.
The Making Of A DVD - Part of the group programme is the
making of a DVD.
In the DVD participants talk about their experience of
being in the Six Step Programme, what they have learned or
discovered about themselves during the group process, and
the relevance of the Six Steps in their lives. The making
of the DVD, as part of the process, provides a more intense
and personal involvement, crystalising and clarifying what
each person is engaging in, and is a
lasting resource for participants to remind themselves of
the important understandings or experiences gained in the
group process.
Each participant is involved in the editing of the DVD
during group time and receives a copy of the DVD.
Cost: $360.00 to be paid in full in advance. Concessions
Available.
Follow up Groups, Retreats and Individual Psychotherapy
also available.
